Fuerteventura Ferries to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife

There are three main ferry companies that service Fuerteventura - Transmediterranea, Fred Olson and Naviera Armas..

Lanzarote

The black lava landscapes of Lanzarote form a striking contrast against the white sand beaches of Fuerteventura and while you're there take a trip to the spectacular Timanfaya 'Fire Mountain' a live and active volcano with its underground lava tunnels and caves.
So if you fancy a change just hop across. It's that easy! - Takes about 35 minutes.

The only irksome thing is that with most shops being closed in the afternoons it makes a shopping trip a bit of an early morning affair.
We could well do with a night ferry so we could make a proper day of it.

The crossings are usually pretty smooth but some days it can get pretty 'green' - there are handy sickbags everywhere.

The prices between the two are much the same with Navieras Armas slightly cheaper although you should check out the packages to see if you qualify for discount.
If you have a residencia make sure to take it and save a wee bit of money.

Ikea Deal

Ikea have a branch in Lanzarote and are offering a deal (at time of writing) whereby if you spend over €400 at the Ikea and you have an Ikea credit card then they will reimburse your ferry expenses (when travelling via Fred OLsen Express). It's a footery affair and you'd be well advised to set aside an hour to go through any queues and paperwork.
